Tracy Turman

Tracy Turman

CEO

Tracy became CEO in 2013 after working in a variety of settings to include acute care, post-acute care and physician practice management. He has more than 22 years of experience in healthcare administration and is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. Tracy received his undergraduate degree from James Madison University and a Master of Science degree in health care administration from the University of Maryland University College. Tracy, his wife Amy and two daughters live in Chesterfield County.

Dr. Bernice Stein

Bernice Stein, M.D.

Medical Director

Dr. Bernice Stein is board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) with special interests in amputees, neurological recovery from strokes, head injury and spinal cord injury, as well as musculoskeletal and soft tissue disorders. She is a graduate of the University of California in San Diego and the University of Texas Medical School. She completed her residency in PM&R at the University of Utah and has worked at several HealthSouth hospitals around the country, including locations in Sandy, Utah and in New England. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Stein enjoys sports and has competed in swimming, running and triathlons. She is married and enjoys spending time with her husband and golden retriever.

Lisa Barker

Lisa Stewart Barker, SPHR, SHRM-SCP

Director of Human Resources

Lisa came to HealthSouth with more than 25 years of experience in financial office administration with a focus on human resources administration. Bringing extensive experience in recruiting, employee relations, benefits, training and development, Lisa was promoted in March 2007 to the position of director of human resources, after serving in the accounting department since the hospital opened in June 2006. She is nationally certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources and is a Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Senior Certified Professional. Lisa is a member of the national and state SHRM as well as the American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration (ASHHRA) of the American Hospital Association (AHA), and the Virginia Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration (VaSHHRA). A lifelong area resident, Lisa is active in the community, her church, and also volunteers as a World Vision Child Ambassador.

Towanda Brown

Towanda Brown

Quality/Risk Director

Towanda is the Quality/Risk Director at HealthSouth Petersburg. Prior to joining HealthSouth, she lead performance improvement, compliance and risk programs for more than 10 years. In the last seven years, she has served as the facilitator for CMS and The Joint Commission surveys as well as a director of major initiatives to improve practices and processes throughout acute and behavioral healthcare settings. Her ultimate goal is to achieve quality care and services for patients and their families. She prides herself on building team collaboration and improving practices and processes. Towanda holds a bachelor’s degree in human and social resources from Sojourner-Douglas College and a master’s degree in business administration from University of Phoenix. She has been a resident of Richmond, Virginia, for seven years, but is a native of Baltimore, Maryland.

Thomas Krigbaum

Director of Plant Operations

Thomas Krigbaum came to HealthSouth Petersburg with approximately 25 years of experience with 22 of those being in a hospital setting. Before transferring to HealthSouth Petersburg, Tom served as the director of plant operations at HealthSouth Northern Virginia in Aldie.

A native of Wisconsin, Tom enjoys painting, remodeling, taxidermy and making stain glass windows. Tom spends as much time as possible with his wife, daughter, son and four grandchildren.

Ann Norford

Ann Norford

Controller

Ann joined HealthSouth in May 2007 as the assistant controller at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Virginia in Richmond and was promoted to controller at Petersburg in 2008. She came to HealthSouth with more than 20 years of accounting and finance experience, including healthcare, service and public accounting. She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Miami University. Ann is married, has two children and resides in Midlothian.

Kristen Porter

Kristin Porter, DPT

Director of Therapy Operations

Kristin’s career as a physical therapist has been focused in the inpatient rehabilitation setting and she has been with HealthSouth since 2008. She began her career as a physical therapist at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Rock Hill, SC and joined the HealthSouth Petersburg team as lead physical therapist in 2013. Kristin was then  promoted to  director of therapy operations in 2014. She received her undergraduate degree and a Master of Science in exercise sports science in 2005 and her doctorate in physical therapy in 2008  from Elon University. Kristin is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association, as well as, the Virginia Physical Therapy Association and she resides in Richmond, VA.

Lauri Robinson

Lauri Robinson, RN

Director of Marketing

Lauri started out her professional life in sales and marketing. She began on the ground floor by selling advertising space for local news publications and later moved to marketing air time for television commercials. She gained experience as a supervisor by working as a regional director of sales. During that time she volunteered as an EMT, and eventually earned a "glitter patch" as a nationally registered paramedic. While providing emergency medical care to people in need, she decided to return to school to pursue an education in nursing and went on to become a registered nurse. Her nursing career began in the emergency room of a level 3 trauma center. Lauri never dreamed she would be able to combine those two, very diverse, career choices into one position, but then she became aware of the unique world of a HealthSouth rehabilitation liaison. In July 2015, Lauri joined HealthSouth Petersburg as senior liaison. She was promoted to the director of marketing position in January 2016, where she is part of an exemplary team of professionals that provide a much-needed service to our community, and is proud to be a part of the HealthSouth family.

Patrick Sears

Patrick Sears, R.Ph

Director of Pharmacy

Patrick joined HealthSouth in 2014, bringing almost 20 years of pharmacy experience in both the community and hospital acute care settings. Originally from the Seattle area, he earned his pharmacy degree from the University of Washington School of Pharmacy in 1995, and is now working on his master's degree in business administration through the University Of Massachusetts at Amherst. He is also an adjunct professor/preceptor with the VCU School of Pharmacy, and a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He currently resides in Midlothian, Virginia with wife, Heidi and two sons.

Kathleen Seaton

Kathleen Seaton, RN, BSN, MSM

Chief Nursing Officer

Kathy joined HealthSouth in 2011 as a rehabilitation liaison and has functioned in several roles since. Kathy was promoted to the role of chief nursing officer in May 2015. She has more than 26 years of nursing experience with 16 of those being in hospital nursing management. Kathy belongs to the American Nurses Association and Virginia Nurses Association.  She received her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University and her Master of Science degree in management at Walden University. Kathy is also active with the Cheryl Watson Memorial Free Clinic in Mechanicsville, Virginia.   

Lydia Windle

Lydia Windle

Director of Case Management

Promoted to director of case management at HealthSouth Petersburg in October 2015, Lydia began her career with HealthSouth in Richmond in 2010. She received a Bachelor of Science in public health from the University of North Carolina. Lydia and her husband Tyler live in Richmond, VA with their two dogs.
